The rapid progress and ever-changing environment in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector is creating strong pressure for the development of new skills and innovation. However, current VET programmes often fail to keep pace with these changes. So how can we ensure that students have the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in this sector? INVESTech project provides the answer.
The INVESTECH project aims to promote the innovation potential of VET by applying the Quintuple Helix framework. It is about building and fostering partnerships between five key actors; academia, industry, the public sector, civil society and the natural environment.
The project will first establish five centres of vocational excellence (CoVE) in ICT in five European regions: in Košice, Slovakia; Attica, Greece; Sofia, Bulgaria; Nicosia, Cyprus; and Klaipeda, Lithuania. These centres of vocational excellence will be used to develop skills ecosystems that respond to the needs of the region, contribute to regional development, innovation, smart specialisation strategies, promote green transition and social inclusion.
In the second part of the project, a transnational platform for CoVE cooperation will be established, providing opportunities for international cooperation and exchange of best practices.
The INVESTech project (Innovation Vocational Excellence and Sustainability in Tech, 101143958; ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PEX-COVE) involves 18 partners and 13 associate partners from five European Union countries (Slovakia, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Lithuania). The project will run for 4 years and the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia) is the project coordinator. The implementation of the project is carried out in cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics.
